Life Saving Victoria, as a core member of the state’s emergency services, provides emergency response services across the state through is vast network of Lifesaving Club, Lifeguard, Marine and Aerial rescue services.

As a member of Emergency Management Victoria, LSV supports all phases of Emergency Management in Victoria, and assists other Emergency Services using its broad, yet unique skillset and large member base wherever possible.

Since the early 1900s Life Saving Clubs have been an integral part of Australia’s coastal and inland waterways, with volunteers providing education and training in lifesaving activities, as well as providing the iconic “red and yellow” patrolled areas. Life Saving Clubs harness the support of local communities, and use a network of services such as helicopters, inflatable rescue boats, off shore rescue boats and rescue water craft to ensure the safety of our waterway users.
