Victorian Public Pools Register

The Victorian Public Pools register has been designed to provide an overview of services, features and safety standards at your local pool facility. The register is a component of the Victorian Government – Safer Pools project and a key element of the Safer Public Pool – Code of Practice, which was jointly developed following Coronial recommendations. Public pools include i) Council, ii) learn to swim and iii) educational facilities.

Endorsement Requirements

Gold: Compliance Score 100% and Safety Score over 95%.
Silver: Compliance Score over 90% and Safety Score over 90%.
Bronze: Compliance Score over 80% and Safety Score over 80%.

*Endorsements represented in the table below may reflect an initial assessment score while evidence is being assessed by LSV. As such scores may be amended following final close out of the assessment which occurs within 60 days of the assessment date listed.

Assessment Frequencies

– Over 100,000 patron visits per year – Assessment every year
– 20,000 to 100,000 patron visits per year – Assessment every two years
– Under 20,000 patron visits per year – Assessment every three years

All Pool Safety Assessment questions are referenced based and the compliance score ensures that facilities aren’t disadvantaged due to features outside their control, such as facility design. Achieving and maintaining a formal endorsement should be the aim of every public pool facility owner and operator.
