Life Saving Victoria are looking for proactive and enthusiastic Instructors to join the LSV Education team! Join the mailing list to be the first to know about vacancies and recruitment dates.

LSV’s Education Instructors have the opportunity to deliver our vital Lifesaving Education Programs at the beach, river, lake, pool and classrooms to students across Victoria. These roles are casual-based and flexible, meaning you can work as much or as little as your schedule allows! Applications for Education instructors are sought annually from July with interviews and recruitment processes taking place from September.

Who are our instructors?

Our Instructors come from a variety of backgrounds providing an array of experience and knowledge including:
Life saving club members, student teachers, sport and recreation and paramedic students, retired/semi-retired teachers and stay-at-home parents!

What will my working week look like?

Both programs predominantly run Monday to Friday between the School hours of 9:00am to 3:30pm. However, occasional we do run weekend programs. Our peak season runs in the warmer months October to December (Term 3 & 4) and February to May (Term 1 & 2).

Where will I be based?

Program delivery locations vary from beaches, lakes, rivers, pools and classrooms across Victoria. One week you could be delivering a program in metropolitan Melbourne, the next be travelling regional Victoria visiting the states most at risk regions.

Required Qualifications:

Education Program Instructors & Team Leaders (open water programs):

• Provide First Aid and Current CPR
• ‘Employee’ Working With Children Check
• LSV Community Surf Life Saving Certificate; or SLSA Bronze Medallion
• Driver License (Team Leaders Only)

Education Program Leaders (incursions):

• Provide First Aid and Current CPR
• ‘Employee’ Working With Children Check
• Drivers License

• Program Leader: Incursions and community events
• Diversity and Inclusion Instructor: Open water programs
• Swim and Survive Presenter
